IND vs ENG Test Series: Know how many days England team will get to practice before Chennai Test
A four-Test series is to be played between India and England from February 5. Some members of the England cricket team have reached India for this series while the rest of the players will arrive after the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka. After the Sri Lankan tour ends, the cricketers who come to India will have to quarantine six days, so the England team will get only three days to prepare for the Test series against India. The England team’s Sri Lanka tour ends on January 26, after which the remaining players will reach India on January 28.
The England team will have to remain in a tight isolation for six days after reaching Chennai. Ben Stokes, Joffra Archer and Rory Burns, who are not touring Sri Lanka, reached India on Sunday night and will get five days to practice after being in isolation at the hotel. All the players will be tested for Kovid-19 thrice in six days. England players were allowed to practice after 48 hours upon reaching Sri Lanka. Of the England players, only Moeen Ali was found positive on arrival.
India will host the first international series amid the epidemic. Its spontaneous organization is important for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as it allows it to host the Indian Premier League (IPL) at home. The IPL 2020 was played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The last two Test matches of the series will be played in Ahmedabad from 24 February. This series is to be played in the Bio Secure Environment, which is also important for the World Test Championship. India are at the top of the points table with a stunning win in Australia.
